    At the age of 55, Josef Pfiffner realised his dream of independence by purchasing Haka. He takes over the shares from M. Gairing and A. Frei. Despite the ongoing economic crisis, Josef Pfiffner already envisages the “dawn” and the rewards of new materials and production processes.

    Gerodur officially opens its new plant in Benken (SG)

    The steady growth during the 1960s calls for the construction of a larger production plant. The move occurs in the summer of 1970 with five extruders. In the meantime, the company’s product range has been expanded to include flushing, sewage, pneumatic tube and cable protection pipes.

    Hans Kaufmann founds Haka AG in St. Gallen

    Celluloid sheets are used to make collar stays and door protectors. The “Haka-Sana” label for plastic-covered knitting needles is widely known throughout Switzerland. Hans Kaufmann is a pioneer in the plastics industry, having gained his experience during his long stay in America. Haka is one of the first plastics companies in Switzerland.
